Basic Features

Collaborator Limit

We’ve created Lite and Basic plans for smaller teams to make Aligni more accessible and affordable as you grow. Grant access to additional users via Collaborator seats. Modify permissions to allow access and modifications to data.

Viewer/Commenter Limit

We’ve created Lite and Basic plans for smaller teams to make Aligni more accessible and affordable as you grow. Grant limited access to additional users via Viewer seats. Viewers can view data, and comment on discussions when permitted. Because of their diminished role, extra viewer seats are provided in bundles of 10 at the same cost as a single collaborator seat.

Data Retention

Keeping detailed audit history of past actions, discussions, and other records can be a helpful operational tool. Aligni provides free data retention for such history for up to a year depending on your organization’s subscription plan. Additional data retention may be purchased by changing your data retention settings. By default, your data retention automatically increases as your organization matures, but you may change this at any time.

Approval Workflow

Offered at the Pro level, approval workflow stages allow you to gate certain workflows (such as quoting, purchasing, and change management) with collaborator approvals –engaging more eyes on important processes. A comprehensive role-based access control (RBAC) system is in place so that you can assign approval roles and access to collaborators.
Item Master

Item Master

The Item Master is your centralized repository for comprehensive information about your company’s products, materials, and other costs. It acts as a master record, consolidating crucial details such as part numbers, descriptions, specifications, costs, suppliers, and other essential attributes. Use of a well-managed Item Master ensures accuracy and consistency in data across your organization, facilitating effective management of inventory, production, and procurement processes. By providing a single source of truth for product information, the Item Master streamlines decision-making, enhances collaboration, and contributes to overall operational efficiency

Item Limit

Item limit is the number of items (or parts), both material and non-material, that are included in your subscription plan. Additional items may be added in the Pro plans as you grow.

Additional Items

Available with PLM Pro and MRP Pro subscriptions, additional items (parts) are purchased in blocks of 5,000. There is no limit to the number of items supported by Aligni at the Pro level.

Custom Parameters

Aligni provides Custom Part Parameters for specialized components requirements. You can define a list of custom parameters as well as the type of data that is stored in each parameter then associate those parameters with the part types in your database.

BOM Management

Facilitates Bill of Materials (BOM) management by providing a centralized and integrated platform to create, maintain, and optimize BOMs throughout the entire product lifecycle.

BOM Revisions

BOM revisions follow a draft / release cycle to help you manage revision control that is fully integrated with Aligni’s engineering change management records (ECRs and ECOs). Keep everyone on the same page with comprehensive revision history and links to the changes included each revision — including pending changes that have not yet been incorporated. Use Aligni’s BOM Comparison feature to see item-by-item differences between BOM revisions.

Engineering Change Management

Well-executed engineering change management is an essential part of the product lifecycle documentation. Aligni’s ECM system is designed to be simple, effective, and efficient – perfect for small- to mid-sized companies that need exceptional documentation and quality management without excessive red tape and burdensome process. By integrating PLM and MRP, your company’s ECM process is available to both design and manufacturing teams, improving collaboration, operational efficiency, and quality.

Active ECR

An engineering change request (ECR) is considered active until it has been resolved and closed. Aligni provides one active ECR at the PLM Lite and MRP Basic plans to enable smaller organizations to explore the functionality before upgrading. Most organizations will make extensive use of ECM during the lifecycle of their product lines.

An engineering change order (ECO) is considered active until it has been resolved and closed. Aligni provides one active ECO at the PLM Lite and MRP Basic plans to enable smaller organizations to explore the functionality before upgrading. Most organizations will make extensive use of ECM during the lifecycle of their product lines.

Vaults

Vaults provide an efficient and convenient way to share critical data with your team and (optionally) with your suppliers. Vaults provide access control, MD5 checksums, access logs, and notifications so that any changes are automatically communicated with interested parties.
Quoting and Purchasing

Open Quotes

An open RFQ is one that has been issued by your organization and is still editable by the supplier(s). The number of open RFQs is limited in lower plans to provide limited access to the functionality for evaluation purposes. Pro plans do not have a limit on the number of open RFQs.

Open Purchases

An open purchase order is one that has been issued by a buyer to a supplier but has not yet been fully executed or completed. The number of open purchase orders is limited in PLM plans to provide limited access to the functionality for evaluation purposes. MRP plans do not have a limit on the number of open POs.
Inventory

Warehouse Limit

In Aligni, warehouses are distinct locations for parts. Typically, these are used to differentate inventory amounts in geographically distinct locations where transfering materials would require inventory adjustement and physical movement , rather than moving a part from one location in a single facility to another within the same facility. PLM plans have limited need for inventory. MRP plans, with their focus on inventory management, are more likely to employ one or more warehouses.

Additional Warehouses

MRP Basic and MRP Pro offer the option to incorporate additional warehouse locations into their system, while PLM subscriptions include one warehouse as part of the standard package.

Transfers

Aligni provides the ability to transfer parts and materials between warehouses from one location within the system. This ability makes it easy to move parts when necessarry, keep a record of transfer, and reduce the time it takes to transfer parts to their new locations.

Bulk Import

Import bulk inventory information quickly and easily from CSV data. Particularly helpful when migrating from existing MRP systems, this feature can also be helpful for bulk inventory loads from customer-specific workflows. Aligni makes it quick and easy to import information into its database using simple CSV files.

Bulk Adjustments

Use Bulk Adjustments to manage and document bulk changes to multiple inventory counts such as month-end reconciliations, cycle counts, or regular sales adjustments.

Safety Stock Manager

The safety stock manager tool helps monitor, adjust, and respond appropriately to continual inventory changes to help prevent stockouts and production downtime. Leverage the TimeWarp feature to estimate demand and it’s affect on inventory for predicted future events.
Build Management

Build Manager

From bill of materials (BOM) management to real-time inventory tracking. Users can easily navigate through assembly hierarchies, monitor component availability, and generate detailed reports, ultimately fostering collaboration and accelerating the entire manufacturing process. With Aligni’s Build Manager, businesses can achieve greater efficiency, reduce errors, and gain valuable insights into their assembly operations.

Active Builds

Active builds are assembly jobs (a.k.a. batches) that are either planned or in progress. Completed (finalized) builds do not count against this limit and are only subject to your organization’s data retention interval for long-term reference. At the MRP Pro level, additional builds may be purchased if your production schedule has more activity.

Additional Builds (50 builds)

This is the quantity of production builds (“batches” or “jobs”) that can be created or actively worked on at one time in each plan level. These builds stay active until they are marked as a completed build in the system.
Configuration Management

Equipment

Aligni’s Equipment Management, facilitates the seamless control of assemblies and item collections like lab benches and equipment racks throughout their lifecycle. This feature is commonly applied to complex assemblies, capital equipment, lab benches, test equipment racks, and server racks, enabling the maintenance of detailed records, including asset ID, lot code, date code, and serial number.
Integration

API

The Aligni API provides secure access to data within your site without having to use the Aligni interface. Develop custom applications or integrations with other programs that take advantage of your Aligni database.

API Rate Limit (calls / min)

This is the amount of times an external application can call the Aligni database within a certain period of time. Rate limits help protect server resources, and maintain service stability and performance.

API Web Hooks – Inventory

Webhooks are an advanced tool that provides notifications to other software systems when certain events in Aligni are triggered. Properly configured and utilized webhooks provide a timely, efficient, and accurate way to synchronize an application to Aligni events.

Slack (beta)

Aligni provides integration with the Slack cloud-based team communication platform allowing for real-time collaboration and discussion notifications.

Ultracart (beta)

Aligni’s native UltraCart integration enables inventory synchronization when orders are fulfilled through your eCommerce store. Aligni inventory can be adjusted according to updates from UltraCart so that your finished goods inventory is always up to date and consistent with your online store.

WooCommerce (beta)

Aligni’s native WooCommerce integration coordinates eCommerce activities with your Aligni item master and inventory. Aligni synchronizes changes to your item master with the WooCommerce item master.

Xero (beta)

Aligni integrates with Xero, a powerful online accounting software solution for small businesses.

Octopart Queries (total per month)

Octopart Queries is the number of queries per month allowed by Aligni product level. Aligni works with Octopart to help you view quotes and vendor part numbers as well as view market data on parts in your database.

Octopart Add-On

Aligni works with Octopart to help you view quotes and vendor part numbers as well as view market data on parts in your database. To see the Octopart information, your site needs to have the ActiveQuote feature and your account must be enabled to view cost data.

Aligni provides the ability to list alternates for any part in your database. These alternates are listed on the part details page. Parts can be chosen from among the alternates listed for any component in a part list. Aligni provides two ways to define the relationship between similar parts: Equivalent – This means the parts are suitable for any installation. They have identical parameters and differ only by manufacturer. Alternate – This means the parts are similar, but substitution requires consideration to make sure the alternate is appropriate for use.
